A Little Bit of Russia...

I love the steeple churches...this makes me think of Dr. Zhivago...
that is definitely a Viking ship...

I love the headgear...nicely rendered...

I love the way the mother of pearl shows through and looks like Aurora Borealis lights...

that is so clever with the mother of pearl sky and shimmery lake...
lacquerwork mirror featuring a particular Russian fairytale, I'm sure...

A thriftstore find for a couple of dollars...but I wanted something Russian Double Eagle...and there it is, part of the bargain...

A Russian Perfume Invoking Red Square

looks exactly like St. Basil's Cathedral...

oh, in case you don't read Cyrillic like me, the perfume is Krasnaya Moskva.

Peridot...

just love faberge eggs!
the porcelain bead necklace was fun to put together...

Pomegranate Necklace

The pomegranate is native to Central Asia and it's origins are from Iran to the Himalayas. I love pomegranates, which inspired me to make this red dichroic glass bead necklace and earrings with pewter colored leaf, cream and green details, which look like pomegranate seeds...tasty...

Second Life for Pier One Skirt...

ASIAN EMBROIDERED CLOTHING

Remember when Pier One used to sell clothing? This very modest and loooooong embroidered Indian skirt had sat around for sooo long that the elastic has melted....

So...since embroidered items are still in, I added a new elastic but shortened it so that it's updated to what's in NOW. Lesson: NEVER THROW ANYTHING AWAY...

Asian Kitchen Items Haul...

Bamboo Steamers which are great for steaming gyozas, pork buns, fish, vegetables, rehydrating stale bread...
A large Chinese wire mesh spoon (also called a "skimmer") is great for scooping out homemade pasta and dumplings, deep-frying and wok stir frying. Basmati Rice bag which I kept for it's graphics, which can be "recycled" as a gift bag or to hold regular rice or pasta!

Imported Toiletries & Pharmaceuticals

Japanese Green Tea Candy - tasted very much like a strongly brewed cup of green tea!

and to extend the mood, green tea towels...
Many of you know about the effectiveness of Tiger Balm as an ointment for sore joints and muscles...
Camellia Oil - the Japanese swear by this for skin and hair health, and Geisha have always used this as a hair strengthener...

A vintage box of German Sandelholz sandalwood soap with Chinese junks (a type of BOAT)... the soaps were wonderful but I use the box now for ambience in my Southseas bathroom...

This soap is Chinese made and incredibly affordable at around 25c a piece in LA's Chinatown! (so I got four boxes).

My Singapori Chinese lantern, a covered Chinese mug and a Japanese glazed Sake cup holding a pink lip gloss. The perfume is Elizabeth Arden's Green Tea fragrance...
I love the freshness of Green Tea by Elizabeth Arden in summer...
For me, Asian and "Southseas Tiki" just go together beautifully...Tiki Mugs also are great for storage and displaying things like chopsticks and makeup pencils!
Mahjong bracelet holds an Alphahydroxy face serum...well, what else could it be used for?

New Age and World Music

Ottmar Liebert's Asian, Indian, Latin, Gypsy and American Southwest fusion talents...
The Gipsy Kings, with their Flamenco and Moorish rhythms...
Arabic and Spanish language collaboration...very sexy and great to dance to; makes you wanna learn Belly Dancing!!!

A Chinese Pumpkin!

The teal dots on this "pumpkin jar" just pop right out and I love the way they are paired with rust and gold details...

Scheherazade and "A Thousand and One Nights"

Tall Tales rendered by Scheherazade. If you've ever attempting reading this multiple volume series...for me, reading it is still a work in progress... nice chiseled cheeks fellas...
And speaking of Scheherazade's story-telling talents, this CD was one of the best marked-down deals from Borders...don't you just LOVE the artwork?
Got this lamp at Cost Plus but I wish a genie would come out if I rubbed this...what(or who) would I wish for...? Um, I've got a Christmas List...as they say...TALL ORDER!!! (three wishes wouldn't cover it)

The mythical Garuda Bird...if any of you know the legend of this beast...is part man and part bird...well, the face is a definite match, but this one's all bird...

Balinese Dancer Praying
Frog Mask, featured here with a Backscratcher from China and Philippino shell garlands(for that Tiki look!)
