Everything's coming up roses

like this rose floral bomber... Or is it a camellia print?
love the big fluffy blossoms that with some imagination could even look like double camellias!
cute tracksuit / varsity jacket with striped cuffs, collar and ribbing at the waist...

Fall approaches cautiously...

green plaid ankle pants - I think this is pretty close to Black Watch tartan...
Green quilted bag
Green glitter jelly sandals
Teal squarish sunglasses
Aqua sunglasses
Retro round green frame sunglasses
Retro round green frame eyeglasses
teamed with these Miista purple holographic shoes...
and these plum / burgundy / maroon plaid pants that also look like actual tartan!
definitely these retro cool cranberry red sunglasses...
these very autumnal deep plum sunglasses will be a match...
as would this studded burgundy satchel / crossbody shoulder bag...
and they could be dressed up with these burgundy slingbacks...
or dressed down with these burgundy oxfords...
and these pretty classic-looking navy pinstripe pants...
Midnight Magic glitterpuss shoes...
this ribbed teal tee / sweater top...
maybe to be teamed with this ivory cableknit jumper and cream fossil cross body bag...
Love the idea of a navy pinstripe coatdress too! Autumn -- bring it on...

Fall Fashion: embroidered bird skirts

loving the autumnal tones of this embroidered bird skirt...
and the embroidery continues on the back...
that bird is definitely a peacock but could pass for a turkey for the autumnal season, especially Thanksgiving? Looks like hand-applied embroidery!
And I love the pretty cobalt blue pleated edge on this orange skirt with birds (parrots and peacocks) and flowers. It also has some open spaces and outlined flower pots / baskets that would tempt me to add some of my own embroidery. I also have some yellow round and clear white petal shaped rhinestones I might add. This one is something I can just see Frida Kahlo wear!
and I see it being worn with an ornate Nepalese / Tibetan style necklace...
and this seafoam denim jacket...
and this saffron yellow denim jacket...

Wishlisted...
Frida sweatshirt -- definitely on my Wishlist!
Frida Photographic tee

Monochrome: black embroidery tunic

nice contrasting beige and black monochrome look...
and I love that this black embroidery tunic be cinched at the waist...
and the embroidery that embellishes each side...

Cute Stuff: peach embroidered peasant top

perfect little peach embroidered peasant top...
it's all handmade cross-stitch -- not bad!
Slovak woman in embroidered top like mine!
Looks almost Mexican but it's Slovak!
Very ornate!

Halloween preoccupations

I don't know, as Halloween rolls around I'm amused by all the season's paraphernalia such as pumpkins, Jack-O-Lanterns and silly ghoulish things. But I'm also thinking of the Day of the Dead theme since recent popularization, such as sugar skulls and for some reason, Frida Kahlo. So, I put this look together, even though it's getting kind of chilly for a loose cotton dress...
something like a Mexican red embroidered dress would be good place to start...
the red dress I got ended up looking like this, with a floral basket...
and these ankle length embroidered boots would team well...
then again, this lovely saffron one is pretty awesome too...
my yellow one turned out like this...
and I also love this deep wine one...
and my maroon / burdundy dress has a peacock...
a flaming heart milagro / ex votis type necklace with sass...
a shawl would work but with the dress sleeves being so broad you would have to wear a batwing sleeve red and black Aztec geometric pattern cardi like this one. And black tights might help... I think I'll leave out a floral crown and wear a head wrap style headband instead.
and teamed with these red suede mules...
but while it's still warm, these purple Saltwater sandals will go with all three Mexican embroidered dresses...
