Colors of Tibet

I love this THANGKA from Tibet which features Green Tara, a Bodhisattva in traditional Tibetan colors of red, saffron, yellow, burgandy, pinks...
It inspired me to make some scarves from materials which my sister had brought back from India on her first visit there... Love the deep saffron orange hue of this sari material that has a gold embroidered edge -- also makes me think of ancient Rome...

this short sleeve coral denim jacket...
a Chadwick's of Boston red trench coat and a bright yellow silk scarf with red detail...

a closeup of the scarf I created...
this neon yellow bandana...

and this mondavi for target neon yellow messenger bag

and a gorgeous burgandy scarf with deep yellow motifs paired with a sunny yellow hooded trench...
a better view of the trench from Walmart...

and this saffron yellow denim jacket when a coat is excessive...

Neon yellow moccasins
couldn't resist these Birkenstock type sandals at Walmart for $9.99...
and these saffron / marigold peeptoe shoes in faux patent leather...
this saffron tee would go well with the saffron peeptoe shoes...
that will team well with this saffron scarf...
and finally a pair of red crocs for a couple of bucks!

this chunky amber necklace...
this yellow jasper nugget strand...
or even this yellow aventurine strand...
these blonde tortoiseshell sunglasses...
and these vintage amber frame sunglasses...
that look so retro with their broad arms...
these orange sunglasses...
or these cranberry red sunglasses...
And here are some of favorite images of Tibet and my inspiration...

saffron jacket and cool shades!

a scene from the movie, Seven Years in Tibet, a cinematic feast for the eyes...
                                                  loving these amazing Tibetan masks...

Hawaiian Shady Brady?

I found this hat yesterday for $2.99 and though it's a "Shady Brady," which is very Texan/Cowgirl, it also looks very much like a Hawaiian Plantation hat, because it has a carved mother of pearl plumeria flower! It actually matches some items I have including a pair of linen pants...

Shady Brady from the front...

and the back view...

yes, it's a perfect match!

RODEO DIVA

So ever since I've discovered the Junk Gypsy Company, every kitschy country western style item in my wardrobe is popping right out! Nay, I am seeking them out to bring to the forefront

*** to shine in neon lights ***

an embroidered snap buttoned shirt that SCREAMS Rodeo Diva!!! (paired here with a tiered crushed velvet skirt)

yes folks, the label on the Rodeo Shirt says, "RODEO DIVA" hehe...

this is too much fun!!!

Gypsy Junk Cowgirl?

I just found out about the The Junk Gypsy Company in Texas and their website http://www.gypsyville.com/ and I have to say it makes me want to visit Texas, with my shit kicking boots on, of course...and I found out that I have similar accessories already...am I a Junk Gypsy at heart?

Now here's a motto to live by...Amen...

the sort of jumble of ecclectic things I would expect to find at their Junk Gypsy market in Warrenton...
ooh, the colors just POP! Love the concha belts...
well, I have some concha belts...good start...
and they have "studded cuffs"...
and here are my vintage leather cuffs from the 80's...
I like their use of ZEBRA...hehe...
this embroidered jacket is yummy...their T's and tanks are nice too...
Makes me enjoy the pictographic T's I have...

including this British themed tee with apothecary bottles and flowers...
that I want to wear with this coral reds floral choker necklace...
these coral mules...

this pretty mauve and pink butterfly tee...

and this very Valentine tee with hearts and flowers that has a Victorian ephemera feel...
that could be teamed with this amber roses necklace...

ooooh...I'd love to make a sign like that "Cowgirl at Heart"...great idea!
and here are my "shit kicking" cowgirl boots, bought in California...
and all I have to do is get a Shady Brady hat...only if I can add flowers to it...like shown here...ooh, nice TEAL skirt!
I've got these straw hats - an oxblood straw hat with burgundy flowers, and a natural straw hat with purple and mauve flowers. Hmmm...maybe the one on the left? (love this saffron yellow quilt!)

Would I be that wild (wild West) enough to get all cowgirl gussied out to participate in one of their "Junk Gypsy Proms?" hmm...Texas might be a lot of fun to visit...I love all that kitschy stuff!!! But if I do, I will make it a point to visit the Junk Gypsy Company near Austin!
