Magnolias, especially the super-large ones have always seemed prehistoric to me; well they really should be - specimens dating back some 20 million years have apparently been found! This year these HUGE 9 - 10 inch long blossoms are blooming on this tree of mine which looks some 25 feet high...
this one is just over 9 inches across and dwarves the acorn in my hand:this one's just been soaked in a late afternoon shower and seemed steamy and plump... aaaaaaaah... freshhh...
