Frida Inspired: serape stripes skirt

July 6 is artist Frida Kahlo's birthday and just around the corner...
which reminds me, I just came upon this interesting high-low hem serape stripes skirt...
the back shows off the second tier at the hemline...
the colour combination is quite contrasting as well...
burgundy, coral red, blush pink, purple (actually ultramarine / ultraviolet but when I use either term, noone has a fucking clue!), navy blue, yellow, olive green, charcoal, black and white...
I also love how it has been styled with an embroidered jacket and bolster shaped bag...
may not be embroidered, but this charcoal jacket...
 this saffron yellow denim jacket...
this pink denim yellow jacket...
this skull roses tee...
but somehow I want to team the skirt with a floral slinky top...
this floral tank for an Oktoberfest look
Yellow floral dirndl tank top
this H&M burgundy crinkle camisole top
this H&M black crinkle camisole top
Coral sunglasses
Coral bakelite bangle
this red roses choker necklace...
or this red roses / camellia long sleeve tee...
these red roses socks...
and I could certainly team it with my floral embroidered jacket...
but for the summer it could be teamed with a simple lace trim tank...
Black crochet shrug
a gossamer thin black waterfall cardi...
or even this pretty blush pink long sleeve tee...
and this pale blush pink cropped sweatshirt...
this coral pink trench coat...
and for some reason I really want to team the skirt with this black hairpipe belt...
add flowers by clutching this pretty floral clutch...
this amber choker...
these coral mules...

and these red sandals with brass buckles...
or these crisscross ballet flats...
Olive 🫒 green glitter jelly sandals
Olive ankle boots
deep red mule sneakers
Red slip-on sneakers
Olive slip-on sneakers
perhaps these black hightops...
or these Superga grey hightops / high top sneakers...
these Midnight Magic glitterpuss shoes for instant glam...
these Miista purple holographic shoes...
or these rose gold fisherman sandals...
this Kleancolor Salsa nail polish...
and this blush pink moto jacket for cooler days...
but it kind of begs being teamed with a halo of roses...

Will the reworking ever be done?

the cute vintage boho-chic hand-blocked periwinkle dress turned out to be super-tight in the armpits and got reworked into a three-tier skirt just below the calves. A lot of tops would go with it like those that are periwinkle blue, lavender, maroon, black and white, even blue denim but I teamed it with a lavender hacchi knit cardigan...
A little more light on the subject!
this heathered lavender tee...
this H&M burgundy crinkle camisole top
Indigo Threads embroidered and tasseled plum duster cardigan topper
and this plum tartan / plaid shirt...
perhaps topped off with this shaggy faux Tibetan lambswool yeti vest...
just like this outfit -- kinda like Tibetan grunge -- just add chunky jewelry...
these Miista purple holographic shoes...
purple spacedye sneakers
maroon / burgundy and white sneakers
these oxblood ankle booties...
maybe even an oxblood waterfall cardi / cardigan...
burgundy floppy hat...
but then these cool retro cranberry red sunglasses...
deep red angular sunglasses
And this burgundy gladiator sandal teams well
As do these burgundy mules
Topped off with this mauve and plum space dye cardigan...
a basic black waterfall cardi / cardigan...
Indigo Threads indigo blue duster cardigan topper with embroidery and tassels
and also this black hairpipe belt that I made with my very own hands...
and under the cardi, to be teamed with this lacy tank top...
or this white tank top...
or it could be teamed by itself with this blue chevron knit top...
or even this lavender sweatshirt...
 this lavender jelly sandal...
perhaps this carved mask ring...
and this iolite...
this LA Colors Chic Eyeshadow Palette...
and NYX Lip Lingerie in Embellishment...
or to be wild, this periwinkle hued Kleancolor Lipstick in Cast of Spell...

(this is how the periwinkle dress looked)
