Tropical Foliage Ensemble

It's hot... humid... rained yesterday... and the feeling's TROPICAL... I'm thinking of Indonesia, maybe the Hawaiian Islands... I was able to put this Tropical Foliage Ensemble together...

A very looong crinkly cheesecloth vest worn over a black and white striped slinky tank. The vest is loose, with side slits, to literally hang over the bright, tropical wrap-around skirt...a couple of Oriental themed necklaces, with a jadeite Buddha pendant...

the red tropical foliage skirt would also team well with this yellow denim jacket...

Saffron Buddhas

Some porcelain representations of the Buddha in shades of saffron...

not sure but most of these Buddhas are either in Nepal or Tibet...

some contemporary ascetics -- the Saddhus of India in their saffron robes...

 a great representation of Buddha...

and this bust of Buddha looks quite the same - did he really look like that?

I cannot wait to see this movie, "Jesus in India," which was shown on Sundance Chanel in December 2008

Apparently, the movie was based on the book by Edward T. Martin, "King of Travelers, Jesus' Lost Years in India" which should be a fascinating read...came across it on youtube...I love this book cover for the German version of Holger Kersten's book, "Jesus Lived in India"

the English version of it is high impact as well as in this deep blood red...
