Moorish and Moroccan Inspired

Italian plate, that I call my "Venetian" (think Doge's Palace in Venice) plate has the Moorish arch motif.

Moroccan looking but very Indian, Cutwork Side Table
Silk Caftan
This versatile Indian silk caftan can be worn as a dress, with or without a belt or sash or open as a coat! And...it has a luscious cobalt blue lining...

The hexagonal motif has a definite Moroccan influence, or at least I think of the Souks of Morocco when I look at this pattern!

A Moroccan Cookie Jar(also featured on my Blue and White Home Blog)

Gothic Hutch With Moorish Details

This rustic old-world hutch, which I call my Gothic Hutch is made in Mexico but has an unmistakeable Moorish influence...
The bottom of this hutch has a definite Moorish Star motif...
Detail of the Rosarie Lariat Necklace which I put together one spiritually inspired day...

Here Kitty, Kitty...

I absolutely adore Hello Kitty, also known for being KAWAII (cute) in Japan. I just got this as a gift for participating in a Japanese holistic nutraceutical taste test. If you're wondering what "Kawaii" tastes like, well, it's STRAWBERRY!

International Markets

I love shopping at Asian Ranch Markets and Import stores for the ambience and novelty of food, produce and products, the next best thing to travel!

Korean Wall Hangings

Korean Airlines' lacquered Silk Fan...the colours just pop right out!!!
Found at a Korea Day expo in Anaheim California, the food was great too - Ever had Korean BBQ?

Crane detail...
The moon, a pagoda and children in bright, colourful clothes...all the elements of a perfect evening...

Mirrored Bags

This cobalt colored satin evening bag is a gift brought from India.
embroidered and mirrored small money purse in turquoise/teal satin...

Egyptian Necklaces

This is a postcard that was a marketing piece from an antiques dealer in New York. I absolutely adore the ancient quality of these present-day Egyptian necklaces and pendants...

Just love funky footwear

I love these embroidered and beaded mules...

and these embroidered kitten heel mules...

imported Indian leather slippers, which look sort of Moroccan...
These are Privo's suede mules, super comfortable...

Yup, I like it really funky, when it comes to footwear... (in case you didn't know!)

Geisha Handbag

Some of you may be familiar with Sei Shonagon's The Pillow Book. The version I've read is by Alison Fell, The Pillow Boy of the Lady Onogoro, a fine collection of Japanese tales. So when I saw this Japanese motif purse in shades of buff pink or nude, I just had to have it, though it does make people blush so...

Brocade Jackets

Nothing is as iconic as the fire-breathing flying wingless Chinese dragon, which reminds me of my brocade jackets and shoes...
My red brocade dragon jacket and wooden lacquered shoes, also known as GETAS and fur trimmed red and gold dragon slippers...
here's a gold-leaf embellished Greek icon of St George and the dragon painted on wood...
the European dragon has wings similar to those of a bat and this red and gold crystal dragon brooch would team well with the red brocade jacket...
and here's my black brocade dragon jacket and black brocade happy shoes with pagodas...
I would team the black brocade dragon jacket with this pink and purple crystal winged dragon brooch...
