A tribute to James Stewart

clean cut, aristocratic-looking, handsome Jimmy Stewart - the all-American boy next door...
 and he was sexy...
 handsome in his aviators...
A born aviator, Jimmy Stewart is standing 4th from left with the 703rd Squadron, which he commanded.
 ahead of his time peace-signing...
simply gorgeous and wholesome looking...
and they couldn't have picked anyone better to play Glenn Miller...
and then there were the bedroom eyes... :-) James Stewart - a true class act!

Jimmy Stewart is actually the very best screen actor of all time - in fact Frank Capra said this many times - and I tire of those who always reference Jimmy as 'self-effacing' with a 'stammering drawl'. Onscreen he was pure fire, his lines and speeches were rapid, confident, assertive, intense and deeply felt. I have seen over 40 of his films from his boyish days in the 1930s to his more hardened mature roles in the 1960s. Jimmy Stewart, especially in his 1930s and 1940s performances, was achingly intense and romantically sexy. This man was so handsome, with dreamy bedroom puppy dog eyes, he wasbeautiful and so vividly alive on film, it was impossible to take your eyes off him. He performed with his his voice, his eyes, eyebrows, forehead, jaw, hands, arms and legs. Its said in real life he was private, self-disciplined containing some secret private aspects of who he was. This inner fight for self-containment may have been a major reason for his incomparably thin body frame, and it defintely fueled the intensity with which his heart, spirit and bright intellect bursted open on the screen.
