this gorgeous ivory crochet style knitted top was won at auction for a few dollars and it seems like it'll be a versatile throw-over a tank top or sleeveless garment for extra coverage... It's extremely lightweight so it could be worn on a cooler day in summer that's not too muggy or high humidity. Should be great with black and white combos I'm thinking of lately...

Skulls and crossbones, oh my...
Skulls, with or without crossbones, have been in fashion for quite some time but I'm a bit slow to catch on as they're a little too piratey for my over-40 taste. Eye-patch optional. Here I have a skull top, that's more like a long knit tunic, that I have teamed with a skulls and crossbones scarf that also features crowns, which only just misses the mark of making me feel like a panzer trooper...
and this bones bracelet would go with them brilliantly!
Loving black, white and silver combos
Here's a combo I put together in black, white and silver, utilizing a silver grey mesh tunic, a sharkbite high-low nautical striped dress that serves as a long tunic top with skinny jeans, and a spotted black and white scarf that I made myself.
the flared high-low hemline will team well with this fitted black and white striped pencil skirt...
or black leggings...
and black skinny jeans...
and these grey skinny jeans...
and this white caged bootie...

How to wear relaxed fit cargo style camo pants with neon
I love how these camouflage pants are teamed with neon pumps and a colorful neon t-shirt. I've always wanted a pair of cargo style ripstop camouflage pants, complete with six pockets, since I was a teenager and am trying to gain inspiration from how women are wearing them these days. This is a pretty good job with relaxed fit camo pants though, blazing the trail for the rest of us...
This blog will probably be a post in progress and I will be adding to it as more inspirations come in...
Graphic tee and colourful heels definitely elevate the look!
and of course Clement Chabernaud in camouflage...

letting out my inner kitten
I got these pink metallic kitten heel slides at a discount shoe store in Costa Mesa, California, which took returns (they were very hard faux leather) but only gave store credit. I had earlier returned two pairs in the same style, one metallic lime green and the other a pretty baby blue but decided to keep these pink ones. Well as it turns out, the metallic finish began to peal off without any provocation, wear that is... So, I decided to peal off all the metallic finish - except for the heels - and drew on a leopard design using permanent markers and viola! Very kittenish pink leopard slides... I ended up selling them on eBay to a gal in Australia a couple of years ago... I know!!! She gave rave reviews too... Meoooow

pistachio passions
my sneakers ended up looking like pistachios - all the colors of the delectable nut!
$40 jeans that were marked down to $10 looked like pale mint online actually turned out to look like a very verdant pistachio green! No complaints here - they match the "pistachio sneakers!"
yummy pistachios shelled...
colorful pistachios on a tree... (pistachios in the wild!)

blush pink jelly sandals
these jelly sandals are more of a blush pink rather than "nude" and have white buckles but are every bit as cute as the pale nude ones below...
just wanna be nude...
and this is about as pretty as nude gets... These nude or blush pink jelly sandals are tres adorbs! Especially love the metal-tipped straps and metal buckles. Cute huh?

Caesars Woman: the saffron colored elixir delivers!
Caesars Woman Gift Set with 3.3 oz EDP spray, 3.3 oz body
lotion and 3.3 oz shower gel, packaged attractively in a gold box with a pretty mosaic pattern. Stock image. Read full review here…
as a post note, I was looking at the box recently and realized that this is a very ancient symbol - kind of a stylized Hakenkreuz (symbolizing the sun), the kolovrat ("spinning wheel" of the Czechs and Slovaks) or the much-revered swastika of India and pretty much the entire globe for milennia! A real shame that it's been stigmatized...
And they apparently have meanings according to this sampling...
this one means Control of Weather and Protector from Evil in different directions...
Wwwow! Now this is quite striking...
even this amber sun seems to have so much energy and movement...
Here are some more types of swastikas...Wednesday, June 11, 2014
Caesars Man: not strictly for the boys!
Caesars Man, which enticed me with its pistachio green hue,
but the very prominent rosemary top note makes this is a decidedly masculine
scent that needs layering with florals. Fortunately, it blends well...

Coveting: pretty pink ballet flats
it's never too late to get a pair of pink ballet shoes. These take me back to taking ballet classes as a little girl - a form of contortionism, being forced to touch your toe to the back of your head! Fun times...
this picture shows the same shoes as looking more "blush pink" or nude rather than salmon colored as above. Hopefully they're more blush pink - though I'd be cool with either - as long as they're not beige!
